Then you can also have some pets that are a bit weaker on all 3 of these but are capable of retreating by themselves if their hp runs low.

Good suggestion but seperate from having more aesthetic variety.

If pets are actually "different", it will make beast masters a lot more interesting.

Bear Beast Master VS Moa Bird Beast Master. Just like sword/axe.

But then again, it's so much easier to balance the game through beast mastery than balancing through pets.

Well, Pet is beast master's weapon. That's how I see it.

You can dye your weapons (different looks of pet) but the usefulness needs improvement.

You should be able to simply buy 'charm animal' like you do a capture sig, then choose which pet while choosing skills.

Also as far as skills go, it wouldn't be too overpowering to have lengthens bleeding duration on foe or lengthens poisoning, so when you are using a pet skill anyway your pet bonus just increases its power slightly.

They should put the ability to ride and customize your animals. Or u can have a special skill that u can charm enemy animals. Wouldn't it be sooo kool to charm a bone-dragon or a drake!?!?!?!?!

yea because that would be fair. you have a puny warthog getting his ass whupped by a lightning drake. although I admit it would be awsome to have a drake.

Default I Would like to see some new pets

In my opinion the Beastmaster is one of the least used and slightly underpowered variant classes in the game.
The AI can be pretty annoying at times but that can and has been discussed in numerous threads.

After playing a Necro MM for some time and having recently started a new ranger I would like to see more variaty of pets that could fight at range as the Bone Fiends do. I would certainly change the way a beastmaster could function. Obviously the names of the current pet skills and some of the wording in the skill description would need to be changed but not the effect. By this I mean "Bestial Pounce" changed to "Bestial Strike" ect.
Given time and thought im sure this could be implemented quite easily.

Bring on my Rockshot pet so that I can spam Disrupting lunge and have my own desert farmers best friend

Note: Some preps would stack well with a ranged pet.

I think you should just be able to charm anything, but when you charm it it should have same stats as regular pets, and riding pets would be so awsome, i would like a hydra myself

whoah all these idea's remind me of another game called Dungeon Seige II you feed your pet all yuor junk armour and spells/skills and they too become their own individual pretty cruddy game but the pet part moved to GW would be cool
